Comments:
Part time effort due to other commitments during the day on Saturday and Sunday
afternoon after 4 PM local time.
Still getting used to N1MM+. This is the first time I tried to use SO2V on my
IC7800, and I can see how it could help with S&P rate. However, it did not
help this CW-challenged operator very much.
I used the back-slash key to toggle between VFO-A and VFO-B and the up and down
arrows to go to either the next multiplier or unworked station. When I went to
VFO-B everything worked fine with audio from VFO-A in my left ear and VFO-B in
my right ear. However, going back to VFO-A the software would turn off the
7800's sub-RX and put the main RX audio to both of my earpieces. Hitting
back-slash again would turn the sub-RX back on but of course the focus is now
back to "VFO-B". To me this is a "feature" since I don't
hear as well in my left ear anyway.
I did try running some at 25 or 27 WPM and as long as the station came back at
or below 30 WPM I could copy without much trouble. I also copied some stations
at higher speeds but I am not as sure if I copied their serial numbers
correctly.
But I had a lot of fun!
73, Sam W4PK
