Comments:
Fun time, mostly.
Things started well - averaged 110+/hr for the first five hours. To bed with
100 more Qs than last year.
But 10/15 disappointed on Sunday. The bands opened late, and didn't provide
the rates they did last year. (It looks like the K index was up at 4 for 18
hours of the contest.) I ended 70 QSOs behind last year.
Adding to the excitement was a USB keyboard that died. I did the one-armed
paper-hanger dance, unplugging and re-plugging the KB to try and get it
working, repeatedly rebooting computer between Qs, salvaging a wireless KB from
the junkbox, finding batteries, and downloading an obscure driver - all while
trying to hold my best run frequency of the weekend. A few dozen Qs are logged
on scrap paper (but included in the posted score).
Having N2IC on low power was a good motivator - Steve naturally outclassed me,
but gave me a stretch target to reach for (as did NP4G).
Tnx to all,
/Bill, K2PO
