"The devil made me do it."
Hoping to find some operators near my speed range, 15WPM, I stepped into the
fray.
I found I had to piece information together listening to several contacts
before daring to call anyone. There was virtually no one sending in my speed
range.
For a beginning CW op who transmits, purposely, at 13-15WPM in hopes that
responses will be somewhere near that speed, this was a fool's dream. NO ONE
slowed down. How do you expect to entice new CW ops into the fold? We shouldn't
have to be at 25+WPM to participate in what is billed as a good intro the the
new CW contester.
And, not all you speed demons out there don't send the cleanest CW.
I just hope enough of my contacts are accurate, to add a few points to the PVRC
effort.
