Many thanks to Rich, KL7RA - our host - and to Wigi, AL7IF, who came and spent
the weekend with me learning how to operate this contest with an interlock.
This was my first experience ever with one on SSB. When 15 and 10 were both
open during the middle of the day on Sunday - we had it working with a peak
hour of 151.
This score was a bit under my single-op effort from here two years ago. The
low bands were in pretty bad shape this time around - producing only 129 QSOs
compared to 250 as a single-op two years ago. Seems like with a multi effort -
we should have been able to have 300+ fairly easily. However, you take the bad
with the good above the 60th parallel.
During the last hour or so on 20 meters - there was still good propagation to
most of the USA - but almost no contest activity. Had to switch into working
non contest guys and this produced 25 received QSO numbers of 1 during the last
45 minutes of the contest.
We have a small chance of setting a new multi record in AK if our log is clean
enough.
