1B - Battery
My total score of 710 points comes from:
- 460 points for my QSOs (46 QSOs x 2 for all CW QSOs x 5 for running QRP)
- 100 points for all emergency power (a battery)
- 100 points for setting up in a public place (Rideaucrest Park in Ottawa)
- 50 points for submitting my score on the "Feild Day Web Applet"
I took my FT-817, Buddipole, and a 7Ah battery to a local park for three hours
on Saunday morning. It was a ten-minute walk to the site, another 10 minutes
to set up, three hours of operating, ten minutes to tear down and ten more
minutes to walk home. Up at 6am and back home in time for a late breakfast.
Running only 2.5w to a low compromise antenna made me a very weak signal.
Thank you to those who pulled me through the noise.
