Comments:
As noted by others, conditions on 2M and up here in the upper Midwest were flat
at best. This was also my most serious effort in about 5 years. Additionally it
was also my first major VHF contest run with my newly reconfigured station
lineup that is now built entirely on PC based SDRs as transverter IFs for all
bands from 50 to 432. It worked great.
Having continuous visual windows on all of the "weak signal" area
activity on all of the bottom 4 bands at all times was a dream come true. What
made it even better was having â??no bandswitch point and click tuningâ??
random access to any signal that I saw anywhere on any one of those bands at
any time. Those things really saved the day despite the conditions. Though
calling CQ a lot, and keeping the antennas moving certainly paid dividends too.
