Comments:
The first 3.5 hours were a slog -- all of AL was skipping over me on 20 so all I
could work were those who showed up on 40. Then around 1930Z the E layer came
alive with a vengeance. 20 opened to all but SW AL, 15 opened to about the NE
half of the state, and even 10 opened to far N AL which is fairly uncommon from
here. This went on for 4-5 hours, then the bands starting going long from top
down, leaving me with just 80 and N AL on 40 for the last couple of hours.
As usual, many of the SW and S Central counties evaded me due to the skip zone.
Thanks mobiles: N4ZZ-25 Qs, NY4N-13, K5YAA-12, W4AQP-12, KN4Y-9, KK4TE-3,
KC4HW-2. Thanks five bands: K4HAL, KR4F, N4KG.
Hope the E layer gives us an encore next weekend. 73,
-- Ray WQ5L
