Comments:
For the bands not being so good this weekend I must say I had a great contest
weekend. Finally, I have a 160 meter antenna that can be heard outside of the
U.S. and even at low power I was able to work 15 different countries. This also
brings up another first for me. A special thanks to 6Y2T, KP3Z, P40L, P49V,
PJ2T, PJ4X, TI5W, TO5X, CR3A, HK1NA and VP2ME, because they were able to pull
me out of the noise with low power on all 6 bands from 160 to 10 meters. I
think I once had 6 bands in a contest, but that was only one station.
I found that by going to bed around midnight and waking up at 3:00 a.m. both
mornings and coming down to the hamshack were the best times to work the DX. I
worked Guam on 80 meters early Saturday morning, and then this morning around
4:30 local time I worked 3D2RX on 40 meters in Rotuma Island.
I'm looking forward to spending some time in the ARRL DX SSB contest, see
everyone there.
