Comments:
I wished I could have made a full-out effort of it, but life had other plans.
Thanks to all who stuck with me to pull my info out of the noise. Noise levels
were high here on 40m and worse on 80m and 160m, making those bands tough going.
Unfortunately signals on 10m and 15m dropped down significantly around 2100,
and 20m never did well for me. STill I had fun, slogged it out to the end, and
look forward to the next one.
It was so warm here today (47F) I had time to run out in my sweatshirt, jeans,
and flipflops to lower and re-connect the feed point of the 20/40/80m inverted
vee. The winds have savaged my 500+ ft. horizontal loop this year (and are
roaring around out there trying again right now). I have two small autotuners,
and one can't get the loop tuned on 160m any more. The tuner might have damaged
components, but it might also be that, after recent repairs the loop is perhaps
50 feet smaller, and somehow severely non-resonant. In any case, I just don't
have the setup for 160m I had when the loop was around 550 ft. 73 to all!
