Lots of fun. The NAQP contests are some of my favorite contests - lots of good
operators who also happen to be very nice operators.
Propagation seemed very good on 40-15. 80M was tough with QRP because of noise
levels at the receiving stations. I have a feeling that my G5RV turns 100 wts
into QRP and turns QRP in microwatts ERP!
Was very pleased with the FT-857D. Thankfully (?) I don't have the kind of
antennas that will make the receiver fold! Also - the finals stay pretty cool
at QRP levels.
Thanks to all who contacted me - especially those who really had to dig me out
of the noise.
Thanks also to a very nice wife who let me play radio for most of the
Saturday!
73s and see you in the next contest!
Andy - WA5RML
