Limited time once again. Couldn't turn down my son's offer to be a part of the
gallery at the Midwest Classic PGA tourney this afternoon. Then thought I would
watch part of the KC Chiefs preseason game but after one half, started
contesting in the NAQP.
This was a fun warm up for the Kansas QSO Party next weekend. I spent about
half of the time running and half of the time S&P. Bands weren't great but not
bad either. 80 was a little noisy due to T-storms several hundred miles to the
southeast. After sunset 20 was great to the west coast.
Recently the 40 meter slopping Vee began acting up and wouldn't load. Thursday
I took it down and inspected it, made sure all the connects were intact, and
then put it back up. Whatever I did seems to have repaired it and this was a
good test of its performance. It did work well for the short time I spent on
40 meters. So now all is ready for the fall contest season.
Thanks to all who provided a QSO.
73,
Russ - K0VXU
