Comments:
First off, I apologize for the chirpy sig. Not sure what the problem is. Was
running an old Icom 706 at 40W output. (Should have brought a K3) Operated from
a camp site field day style in Northern Colorado about 15 miles from Wyoming.
QTH was by a lake right with mountains to the east, north, and west. Antenna
was a fan dipole for 40 and 20 meters average height about 15 feet. Didn't
check 15M. Was glad there were still people on 40M at the end. Surprised at
how many Q's I got but I attribute that to all you other ops that pulled me out
of the noise. Never won a single jump ball. Quite humbling to go back to paper
and pen logging and manual sending with electronic keyer! It was a blast,
though.
