Comments:
Many thanks to Carlos, CT3FQ for share with us his fine station on the north
part of the island for this MS effort.
We spent several weekends getting things ready and we know that the low band
antennas must be connected manually late in the evening because there are not
enough plugs on the switcher, hi hi. Late in the night the switcher doesnâ??t
switch anymore and we spend some time troubleshooting to discover that the
power plug had a malfunction.
We had low expectations in terms of final score, given the X1 flare, and also
because the lack of Mult-station. But even so, we fell short regarding the
multiplier numbers, we will have to study a better way to work them especially
with those new restrictive band change rules.
The propagation wasn't so bad anyway but the conditions were varying much.
A windstorm blew through our area during all contest period taking away some
elements of the home made 20m monoband, we must get better aluminumâ?¦
The night doesnâ??t go well because a lack of sleep, it was impossible to stay
awake and the Qâ??s numbers on the lower bands are not good at all.
We had a new member on the Team with us, my son Daniel, CR9ABH, he is 12 years
old and, for our surprise, with no practice what so ever on the air, he achieve
to manage nice rates on the pile-ups! More important, he is willing to come
back!
Thanks to all for the QSOs.
On behalf of the CT3Team,
73
Ricardo, CT3KN
