Comments:
Beat 2011 score, QSOs, and HQ stations. Tied number of zones. Returned from
Bagram about four hours before the start. Had some work items to attend to so
didn't get a pre-contest nap which hurt 40m later on. First 2.5 hours were
rough but conditions improved around sunset. With A=17 and K=5 the solar cycle
isn't helping me here, hah! Initial goal was 800 Qs... Was really looking
forward to this contest...too bad mother nature and work ran interference on
it. 40m would have been a money band but with travel, work, etc I ran out of
energy at night.
Heard but not worked (40m): N4AF 1246z, ZZ7HQ 1249z
Unique calls worked: 338
Unique zones: 18 (mostly 28+29)
Best hourly rate: 112/hr
EU 86%, Asia 13%
I have around 48,700 QSOs on this Yaesu FT-857D between C6, YS, YN, and T6...!
Funny thing is I bought it used back in late 2005...cool!
FT-857D and 40-10m OCF dipole around 30ft/10m up.
Hopefully all these sunspots will juice 6m for the CQ VHF ?!
Best of health to all,
Eric T6MO
