Comments:
Jeeeez....judging from the 3830 comments, everyone hated the contest this time
around. Yes, conditions DID suck...especially on the first night. DX mult = 8
after the first night. Got significantly better the 2nd night...but still not
quite up to par. Could get some EU runs going but not sustained. It made for
difficulty to keep the BIC and the chance to see Uconn vs. Syracuse on TV. On
some weak stateside Qs, had to resort to one-letter-at-a-time to complete
copying call and state. Missed only MT stateside and never heard KH6 or KL7
which always make it into the log. Made an RX antenna switching improvement
that proved invaluable a few days before the contest...as I would often ride
the switch to see which way the calling station was coming in. Would have
missed some callers otherwise such as the CE1/. Now the question everyone is
asking: does the increased sunspot activity which helps the high bands,
depress the low bands? Seems so. 73! -- John, W1XX
