Comments:
Participation was noticeably down from September, but still better than a year
ago in February. I'm sure the competition from WPX RTTY did not help. Do you
have any ideas on how to spur more activity for this contest? If so, please
drop me a direct email to ka9fox at qth.com.
Band conditions were a lot worse than in last weekend's CW Sprint. 20 & 40
were long from the start, and on 80m the west coast stations were very hard to
copy.
I started the contest out with a last minute discovery of a bad coax jumper,
then realized I had logged my first 10 QSOs on the wrong radio/band and wasted
a minute correcting them. Other than that, no major Murphy visits.
Low multiplier totals for me this time around... sometimes you get lucky,
sometimes you don't. Mults missed: AK, IA, ID, MT, NE, RI, SC, VT, WV,
VE1/2/4/5/6/7/8. Only DX mult worked was Fubar at NP2X.
Rigs: FT-1000MP + IC-746 (only 1 QSO)
Amp: AL-1200
20m & 40m Ant: C4XL @ 95' (+ multi-band fan dipole @ 40')
80m Ant: F12 EF-180C @ 105' (rotatable dipole)
