Comments:

First full-time effort in this one since 2007. The overall operating quality
was the best that I can remember in any RTTY contest. I still need to do a
few more things to increase efficiency, but RTTY rates are now approaching
what's available in a CW contest.

This was the most fun that I have had in a contest in quite a while.
Everything in the station worked perfectly, and even the operator was on
the ball most of the time. I had to scratch a few DX QSOs where I just could
not pull the number through, and the op left before we could complete the QSO.
It's funny, leaning forward and concentrating harder does not not improve
copy on RTTY. :-) This score is my personal best in the RTTY Roundup.

I don't use headphones when RTTY contesting, and I keep the volume very low.
I've been suffering from a bad case of tinnitus for the last several months,
and that may be why I've not been having as much fun on CW & SSB lately.
Apparently tinnitus does not go away, so I have to learn to live with it.
I probably miss a lot of QSOs by not using headphones for RTTY contesting,
but I can't seem to take listening to the same two tones all weekend long
in headphones. With CW I can vary the pitch periodically, which I do every
hour or so during contests.

Highlights included working a lot of my friends on RTTY for the first time.
Lowlights were few, and who cares anyway -- it was a great contest. Although
ten meters never really opened to EU, there were always at least two bands
open at any given time. That made for non-stop action for the SO2R operator.
With every QSO worth one point, the contest doesn't require a bottomless
pit of available DX contacts. Good DX did include Taiwan on 40M at sunrise
and Angola on 15M. Thanks for the QSOs. It was really a blast.
