Comments:
Thanks to all who called. This is my best score ever in this contest. Maybe
someday I'll operate the whole thing. 10 never really opened to EU like in the
10 meter contest and CQWW. A big thrill was having E21YDP call in on Saturday
afternoon on 20! I have no idea how he heard me.
I have a pretty meager station here, using only dipoles, wire verticals, and
Beverages for RX, but I do have a functional SO2R setup. When the contest was
over, I was looking through the stats on N1MM and found out just how much of an
advantage two radio operation can give you, even with wire antennas. I was able
to keep the hourly rate decent by sometimes matching or exceeding the number of
Radio 1 (run) QSO's with the 2nd radio:

Pretty neat. I've been doing SO2R mostly on cw for some years now, but never
looked at the rates in depth for a RTTY contest. According to N1MM, the best
60 minute rate was 82, which I guess is OK for a RTTY contest with low power
and no beams. Just some food for thought!
