Comments:

Exhaustion after 2.5 full days of work on major tower and antenna project didn't
keep me off the air on Saturday evening--just "had" to try out the new airborne
aluminum! The best way to check out new antennas is to operate low power and
see what happens. K3/microKEYER/sound card audio problems produced the need to
dust off the ICOM 706 at 70 watts out, so it was a great test.

Activity really thinned out on 40 and 80 meters, but 20 kept rolling along at
least until midnight local, when I ran out of gas.

New antenna arrangement:

2 el M2 yagi at 92 feet
rebuilt TH5 at 60 feet fixed on EU
vees for 80 (and 160) moved from 48 feet to 85 feet

Remaining old antenna lineup:

4 el SteppIR at 52 feet
SteppIR BigIR ground-mounted, 70 radials

Canyon terrain here--the base of the 90 foot tower is at the same elevation as
the SteppIR's boom, making for an odd way to "stack" antennas!

SCC is good fun with an interesting exchange. I'm looking forward to next
year, when I can do the entire 24 hours. Thanks SCC!

73, Dan
