Random Thoughts:
Under the heading "Watch out what you wish for...you just may GET IT!" I know
we all wanted more solar action. Well we got it and it was BAD!
20~10 were weak/slow/BAD use your own adjectives. Started on 15 and that was a
mistake. Kept checking10/15 but didn't get any action on 15
until late and it didn't last. With the flux #s over 100 all week( THE HIGHEST
IN YEARS!!), 10 was the real disappointment. With 20 the only game
it was a slugfest. Even with all the action I spent the most time and had the
weakest runs. 40 was the standout. Had some of my best CW runs
ever once sundown hit the great lakes. Despite the crappy antenna for 80/160,
the action fast with some nice numbers. Still missed my goal of 500 Qs
>From the RTTY/over heating event: I got out a muffin fan for extra cooling
and had the '7000 spare ready. Like a fool I unknowingly use Obama's Econ
policy
to cool the rig, Had the fan on the exhaust...in 9 mins flat the ProIII went
into overheat shut down and cut to 10 watts...Q #s went to zero...op blood
pressure to the
roof...anger...frustration. Saw the problem as I started to hook up the
7000...moved the fan to intake and in minutes was back at it. After that the
rig purred even on
the fastest runs but I lost half and hour.
The Lads were very happy the bunny assault was put down with some fancy sniper
action and sat out the test with treats and toys. UNTIL they played
"King of the hill" on couch! From the sounds I thought a mob was breaking in.
Sounded so bad I grabbed some heat to checked it out...only happy pups. Cost 5
Qs
Don't even bother asking just put me down for the SSB event...Living the
Dream!!
