Comments:
The Stanford Club shack was full of guys chasing
the ST0R, so it made for collisions of noise and
antenna choices.
15m seemed weak and in-and-out, so I left after
7 minutes and 10 QSOs.
20m surprisingly also seemed weak, but I plowed
ahead as best I could. I manage 13 QSOs in 12
minutes.
Time was half up, so I moved up to 40m hoping for
the usual rush, but other than loud W7's it
seemed strange - AHA! Now I see that all the
antennas were pointed at Sudan by the DXers, and
all my antennas have been pointing NE all this time!
Too late to change the past, I moved up to 80m
where the antennas don't turn and can't be pointed
the wrong way. While flustering with this, I
managed to hit the wrong keys somehow and close
the log, so I wasted another couple minutes getting
the log back open. After all this I stayed on 80m
for the last minute and didn't risk trying a switch
to 160m.
Still, lots of fun. Thanks for the QSOs and see you
next week.
