Comments:

Now THAT's what I'm talking about. Nice conditions, finally. From up here,
not all the way back, but getting there. Cool timing to have the highest
SFI of cycle 24 so far occur right in the middle of the contest. Can't
cmplain about that.

Everything was in good shape here. And that is unsual for this contest since
it is nearing the end of the winter and there is almost always some things
needing fixing and weather preventing it. But not this year. I was
essentially in full form here.

I have finally have "the zone" going on this contest. I have been trying
to perfect it since 2002 when I moved here in Vermont. This was not only
a personal best by far for this contest but the best SSB contest performance
that I have ever put in. Previous personal best was last year at 1.75 Million
and 1686 Q with 351 mults. This score is over 50% higher with 40% more Qs
and almost 50 more mults.

The K4XS record is 3.2 Million points with 2650 Qs and 407 mults. I am not
sure if that was possible to break this year as 10M did not open in central
Vermont like it did in other places. Italy and the very southern EU was
strong but much of the rest of Europe was very spotty and week. I could
hear many of the high power stations CQing but they could not hear me. Still
I motored through and picked up many mults but at a huge sacrifice to rate
on 15M at the timesince I just could not run on 15 and work the mults hard
on 10M with the only marginally open conditions. So for me, while 10M being
open was fantastic, it was still only 20% here vs what it was in 2002 just
for reference (obviously a subjective opinion).

Great to work JA and UA0 again on 15M (first since 2005 in this contest).
I only heard a few big gun JAs here but a mult is a mult so I will take it.
I would say that 15M was almost 80% of where it can get to for EU from here
and open marginally to Asia and long Pacific from here.

20M was in excellent shape but not much Asia mult or Pacific mults even though
the band was open many times.

40M - 160M were definately affected by conditions but luckily not too
seriously
except for 160M which was very poor (never worked simple EU mults like DL, F,
9A
etc.).

But all in all, a very positive trade and excellent new high for me resulting.

Antennas Here at N1UR:

160M Vertical T-Top 65 ft high

40M 3el (32 ft boom) at 80 ft and 2el south at 50 ft
20M 4/4 at 80 ft and 35 ft (fixed NE) and 3 el south at 60ft
15M 6/6 at 70 and 30 ft (fixed NE) and 3 el south at 50 ft
10M 5/5 at 70 and 30 ft (fixed NE) and 4 el south at 50 ft
