Comments:
This was a very limited effort as radio was second
to exploring St. Croix. KP2M really gets out even
on the low bands, though no antennna is above 40 feet
high. It is located high on a hillside at about 250 feet,
perhaps 100 feet below the summit. It has a clear shot
from 90-270 degrees. The slope is close to 45 degrees.
Obviously, South America is down but are quite workable
when needed.
The average QSO rate, according to CT, in 13.3 hours,
was 182 per hour. The high rate was 227 on 15 Sunday
afternoon. I never operated more than one or two hours
at a time and operated when it was convenient though
I tried to balance mults per band a bit. The 160 score
is after only one hour on that band.
Any signal reports, especially compared to other nearby
island stations, would be welcome.
ANTENNAS:
160 - full wave sloper 20 feet above the sloping hill
80 - 2L wire beam up about 30 feet
40 - Force 12 3L up 40 feet intermixed with 20
20 - " 6L " " 40
15 - 4BA up 35 feet. C3 up about 30 ft.
10 - 4L up 25 feet to USA, plus C3 and 4BA
