Comments:
I really would have liked to put more time in, but we had family who came in
early Sunday from out of town and I wasn't about to spend my time in front of
the station all day even though I was feeling good.
I did initially plan to put more hours in this contest than I had any other
contest. I failed though. Sitting in the chair for too long is just more
than my back can bear. I operated Friday evening into early Saturday AM, and
then some Saturday when I woke up. By the end of that time period my back was
shot.
I did get back on for an 1-1.5 hours at about 10:30 AM Sunday morning and had
some fun working 15m.
It continues to amaze me that I can hear stations with absolutely no S-meter
reading, throw out my call, and they actually respond! Wish 10m had more
activity. 10/15m are my favorite RTTY bands, although 10m has been fairly
unproductive thus far.
I tried to set things up based upon all of the tips found on the RTTY
reflector. What a great resource. On Sunday I came across many stations
with a serial number below 50. A big thanks to them for getting on the air
and providing fodder.
Thankfully I was able to ameliorate the RFI problems that I had last month.
Had absolutely no problems this time around.
I love RTTY more and more each time I operate a contest. Great ops!
Thanks to everyone who participated, and especially to those who answered my
CQs.
