Comments:
Too painful for me to even look at the 3830 results or post until 2 weeks
later!
The line noise was 59 on 50 and 144 from about 10 AM until 8 PM both days. The
RFI guy at the power company said he would be out the Monday before contest
weekend, but that turned out to be a holiday or something and I never heard
from him again despite leaving messages. My computer says I only operated 6
hours, but I guess it doesn't count all those hours of listening for a signal
strong enough to make ot over the line noise. Calling CQ would have been
useless. I did make most of my CW and WSJT skeds (including a couple of WSJT
randoms on 6M) which were early morning. Also worked out past 500 miles with a
couple of big guns, but many stations I usually work on 222 and 432 were just
not getting through. Tropo scatter was terrible. By Sunday, I spent most of
my time away from the radio. It may not be like New England here this winter,
but why oh why did I not bring my snow shovels from Colorado to here.
