Couldn't get off work early on Friday, so started late. Was frustrated by noise
& very tired, so packed it in about 0400Z. Saturday, I put up two 580'
beverages - one to NE & one to NW. The NE one worked great, but I have some
line noise to the west, so the NW one wasn't much better than the transmit
antenna. Luckily I know the source and my power company is very responsive -
just need to schedule them out here.
Condx on Saturday night were the best I've ever heard to EU from West Texas.
49 Zone 14
35 Zone 15
3 Zone 16
1 Zone 20 (YO3APJ)
1 Zone 40 (TF4X)
Had a good (for out here) EU run on 1887 from about 0520Z-0600Z, Heard T70A
with no pile up, but he couldn't hear me. Couldn't snag OZ7YY either. Never
heard NB or LAB. Need more transmit antenna oomph (coming soon). Also, I will
be putting up two more beverages for SE & SW for Carribean, SA & Pacific. I'm
sold on them!
Out West, Struggled for 11 JA's and got 2 RA0's, 3 KH6's & KL7RA thru the
noise.
Worked all states - thanks to KL7RA for calling in for the last one. And 2 DC
stns to boot - tks KE3X & W3DQ.
Still my biggest score ever in this contest. Had lots of fun. Thanks to all
for the QSO's.
