Comments:
The antenna I put up shortly after moving here on November 15 clearly wasn't up
to the conditions this weekend. A 200-foot center fed with the center at 20
feet just doesn't always work, I guess. The band came to life for me around 16Z
on Saturday with a few loud U.S. west coast, but only a few. And, my noise level
here in the woods is about S-1 so I can hear weak signals. I could not even
complete a contact with W0AIH. I worked 10 U.S. states, BC, and eight DX mults.
In the CQ WW CW, on 10 Meters, I had more Qs (26) and DXCC mults (20).
With a foot of snow and howling winds all weekend, there were other things to
attend to than antenna work. Now that the snow has arrived there is nothing I
can do until spring, if I am still here then.
