Comments:
My first ever 160M contest. Only had a few hours Saturday evening to devote but
had a good time. Re-purposed the 80M dipole just installed for CQWW-CW and
simply center-fed it with an old homebrew tuner scored at a recent NEARfest.
Did it work - well kinda! Obviously was hearing better than I was being heard
so spent the entire two hours doing S&P.
A few things learned;
1. When putting an outboard tuner in place the location of the remote switch
box IS important (that is if you really want the correct antenna selected)!
2. This was fun - need a better antenna for next year.
3. My first 4 countries (including CA) - only 96 to go.
See everyone next year and thanks for digging my weak signal out of the mud!
