Comments:
Too many distractions for a butt-in-chair full time effort, but had a lot of
fun!
Some station improvements worked well: 120 radials under the 100-ft top-loaded
tower instead of a seasonal 30-radial system; INRAD roofing filters on the
IC-765s really cut the crud level; new PC for logging is more reliable.
Propagation was excellent to Europe. Many callers were loud, clear and
QSB-free. No so strong elsewhere. Wierd propagation to the west. At times,
W6-W7 signals were hollow and raspy.
RX antennas were 4 Beverages -- 3 of them BoG (started as BoCS -- Bev. on corn
stubble; then became BuS -- Beverage under snow). Doesn't matter, they worked
well. Think I'll do this all the time -- it minimizes deer damage!
Gary, K9AY
