2008 SFI = 70 | A= 4 | K=1
Solar flux at 87 should have made things better than they were, but nothing's
ever straighforward these days. A M-class flare in the middle of the test sure
threw cold water on the polar path from out here, and even domestic Qs saw
fading and high band noise.
Put in about 12 hours, but throughout the weekend -- counted 15 breaks, many
for long hours.
Missed prime time both nights on 40M and 80M, which hurt the totals in a big
way. Almost my worst-ever in JARTS -- last time I did worse than this I was
using a G5RV at 25' -- at the foot of a 1,000' rise between me and EU/NA (and
the previous year, 2002, I did better from there than this year).
