This was an intermitent operation from the camper while the wife and I were
camping. I was running off the battery as the campground we were in is
unimproved and has no electricity. I'd operate a bit, swim a bit, walk a bit,
then operate some more. It was a fun weekend combining my 2 favorite things,
camping and ham radio.
Used a yaesu FT-450SAT and a center fed zepp. I tried to use the laptop
computer, but had no way to charge the battery, I'd turn on the computer, work
a few, put them in the log, turn the computer off, and do it all over again
after I worked some more. Ended up with about 25% of the battery left.
It sounded like the conditions were pretty good! Was surprised with the mults
I worked on 40 with the antenna at about 25 feet. 73 and thanks for the fun!
