Comments:
Twenty was open just fine, with a good multiplier variety, and forty was its
usual bread and butter, but eighty was noisy and the signals were weak here.
One sixty was its usual tough slog since we are a long distance from most.
Thanks to KW8N for a three bander, the only one. Missed KZ5D and K9BGL at the
end on one-sixty but tnx to local W5JAW for a mult and the only contact there
at the end.
There seemed to be a LOT of activity, but "so many stations, so little time."
My five minute segment QSO numbers were: 11, 10, 10, 10, 9, and 8, so the rate
kept in there well, but the mults were down from the last week. But overall it
was a great deal of fun and constant action. Missed many jump balls as usual.
Missed the Locust on 80, as it would have been four straight weeks, but the
band was just was too tough.
It was fun to work N3ZZ, WF7T, K6UFO and W0YK, all of whom sat near me at the
NS Dinner or the Contest Dinner in Dayton. Nice to connect faces to the
familiar calls. Of course many others such as W4OC, W4NZ, W1UJ and NO5W all are
familiar already and it was nice to see them as well.
Thanks to W5JAW for getting on and surprising me with TX on two bands otherwise
"un-Texan-multed." Good to see regular NO5W as well.
I QLF'ed Ward's name and had to ask N0AX for three repeats before it dawned on
me that N0AX "IS" Ward. DUH!
Great action as usual.
