During the last few minutes of the ARRL DX last weekend, I went down to 80m to
try for one more mult and accidentally switched to the ice-covered vertical (we
had some freezing rain during the day). "Snap" went the amp and off went the
ProIII. The amp recovered but the ProIII didn't, so tonight I used my IC-7000
without receive antennas. Guess I should have done that every week .. just one
of those magical nights you dream about with quiet conditions on all bands when
everyone seems to hear you. I even worked WD0T on 20m!
If this evening was anything like last Thursday when I was away from home
because of company, I'm really sorry I missed that one, too. Some great scores
posted. In any case, thanks Bill for another great ladder, thanks NCCC for
sponsoring the event, and special thanks to all who make this so much fun every
