Comments:
I have recently decided to convert to N1MM. I like it, but I'm not comfortable
with it yet. I felt it was time to try it in a Sprint, so tonight was the
night. I found it difficult to operate well with it because of my lack of
experience and the definite sense of time pressure that is present in a Sprint.
N5NZ (nice to hear you on from West Texas again Gator) called me and something
was wrong. I don't know what I did, but I suddenly switched the program to a
different contest. The exchange was messed up and I gave him a number of 111.
After being impressed with how well I was doing in the first 15 minutes, he
asked for a repeat to find out what it should have really been. Another error
I made was a typing error -- I was working W9RE on 80M, and tried to type in
MIKE IN, but I hit the space bar too fast I got MIK EIN in the two boxes for
name and QTH. I found out that N1MM doesn't like that, so that QSO took longer
than it should have as well. I will stick with N1MM this weekend in the real
Sprint. Hopefully by the end of four hours I will have taken a big step up the
learning curve. Again, thanks for the fun.
