Comments:
Wow! Mike, K4GMH, said it best -- this contest was more of an endurance than a
sprint -- but what an endurance it was! My goal going into this contest was to
simply do better than I did last year (952 QSOs, 81 mults, 6 continents for a
final score of 462,672). Not only did we do that this year, we beat the world
multi-operator record. It helped that the 40 meter stacks were still up this
winter!
Thanks to everyone who worked us. This is the only sport in the world that I
can think of that one's success is determined by others, in that we all depend
on other ops to work us and give us Qs and mults. At times, I looked at other
members of the K1SFA team and asked, "Was there a time when I thought this was
actually fun?" Contesting is hard work, but it really is a lot off fun.
Thanks to Dave, K1TTT, and Michael, K1MK, for coming along on the ride with me.
Thanks to my boss Joel, N1BKE, who lets me off early on Friday afternoons when
there is a contest, and to everyone else at work who understands what it means
to be "bitten by the contest bug." Thanks to all my radio amateur friends who
have encouraged me along the way (and continue to do so); there are too many to
mention, but a special shout-out goes to W1TO, N6IG, KC9ECI, K3LR, K5NZ, WW3LL
and KI5XP -- I love you guys so much!
