Comments:
had Dad (96 and counting)over for dinner ...which is usually on TUE. .. had
planned on skipping NS tonite...but at 6:28 saw that he was absorbed in a book,
so ran downstairs and started flipping switches to get the station on. went to
20.. nada. popped to 40 and lots of action.... had a great 13 minute run w/ 24
in the log...switched to 80 and nothing but noise.. (had forgotten the
precontest ritual of unplugging the noisy Sony CRT TV, which broadcasts even in
the OFF position, and turning off the air cleaner which adds a whole new layer
to the QRN on the low bands)... so called it quits, and went upstairs after a
couple Qs on 80, OR CA.....with 15 or so minutes to go. Shortest contest Ive
ever been in !
COMMENT: saw N6RO's comment.. (BLAH!) agreed...and wonder if this event is
getting slower and less of a sprint. Seems so to me. having to hunt around on
80/160 in the noise (even w/ the QRN makers off)..it becomes more of a DX
contest, than a sprint...at least out here on the far Left Upper coast ....OK
off my soap box.
That being said... still fun..
