Comments:
I was one dinner engagement and bowling league night away from being able to
make this a full time effort. Really had lots of fun playing in this contest
part time. One of these years, hopefully soon, I'll be able to just close the
door to the shack and operate the maximum!
40m ended up being my best band for both S&P and running a freq. My peanut
whistle low power station was no competition on 20 meters. Although I did work
the majority of my DX Q's there Sunday morning, I really have a hard time
trying to hold a freq to even try to run. Grabbed a few more new mults on 15m
Sunday afternoon before settling in back down on 40m then ending on 80m before
pulling the plug 22:45UTC to leave for bowling. Had a nice run going too on 80
at that time, but had to QRT.
My best score so far in this event. Just beat out last year by 42 Q's and a
higher score by 1,391. Ended up with 5 less mults than last year, and missed
WAS by 3, DE, ND, NE.
Quite a few SMC'ers in the log. Had fun!
Station conditions: Icom 756 ProIII 50-100 watts. 1/4 slopers on 40 and 80 at
35' NE, and MA5B mini beam for 15 and 20 at 37'
73 and Happy New Year to all. Gene N9TF
