Comments:
When the contest started, I was on the road back from Savannah. Got home,
unpacked and was on the air at 2050z. I was very surprised to find that 10m was
wide open! Not to many stations on, but there was probably a lot more activity
earlier in the afternoon.
Pushed on 15m a bit, trying to fill in some of my missing states for 15m WAS.
Band just was not short enough to get those close-in states. Had some good runs
on 15m, a blast running on 20m, and 40m was almost completely running. I really
enjoy the NAQP, especially the NAQP CW -- it's about the only contest where you
can run effectively with a modest station and 100 watts.
Was having so much fun on 20 and 40m, I never really got to the low bands. By
0200z, I dropped down to 80m and the rate fell off. Perhaps it was too early.
By 0220z, the long day of driving and operating finally caught up with me, and
I had to QRT -- had to get up early on Sunday.
All in all, a fun contest.
