Comments:
With lots of help from the NCCC antenna committee, I just completed installation
of a 3-el SteppIR at 100 ft. I spent nearly all of my time on 20M, primarily
using this contest to understand how the new antenna plays. Conclusion is that
it works real good! I still can't break through the east coast wall to work
newly appearing EU spots, but I usually can if the wall is not there.
Band conditions were pretty stinko, especially to EU, and I only worked one SA
station! Surprisingly, not many JAs were on either. Activity seemed light,
perhaps due to condtions. I often took breaks to do other things, and threw in
the towel just after midnight.
