Comments:
This may be my last contest fromn this QTH as I am looking at a company transfer
down south. As I've already taken down my 40m and 80m antennas, I only had my
TH6 left. So I decided to do a single bander - 20m with low power (I've also
packed up the amp.) The conditions were actually pretty good but because this
was mid-week, I suspect there was a bit of a shortage of participants from the
U.S. Still, it was a lot of fun, even though I missed the first hour on Friday
evening. I was glad to finally get PEI on SSB with about 2 hours left in the
contest to get a sweep (assuming there was no one at YT and NU). The
propagation on 20m was completely unpredictable, working a station 100 miles
away one minute and then getting called from Hawaii or Ireland the next. It
didn't seem to matter where my beam was pointed. And the old TS-440SAT came
through just fine (as my FT-1000MP is also packed up).
I'm looking forward to next year's contest, even if I am in W5 - or wherever.
73,
Jerry - VE6CNU
