Comments:
Few weeks ago I got an old and not working but cheap Icom IC-551D, as the
contest was approaching, I tried to repair it and the radio was working again
(RF board, PLL & audio problems) on Thursday before contest, it is still a
little deaf (sorry for the people that called me but I couldn't copy), but at
least I was on the air.
It was a very part time operation, but I have lot of fun during the time I was
in the air, WD0T (DN94) was the most western station worked, but I'm sure the
band was more farther open to the west. Two hours before the contest end, I
hear W2SZ calling CQ in CW, it was my only CW QSO, as the radio haven't
electronic keyer, I used my more than 60 year old J-38 straight key for good
old sake.
I hope to be more active in 6 meter from now. Anyway as there was more than 10
stations on the air from FN25, this grid was very well represented in the
contest.
