Comments:
Freq's below 1950 were really scarce. Did S&P to minimize congestion and give
out the WV multiplier to those CQ'ing.
Found a gent who purchased his first rig from the late Tiny Rutz, who was my
main Elmer from Blossomland ARC Novice classes; this was in St. Joseph, MI in
1952! How'd I discover this? Just mentioned I was from Bangor, Mich. This
CQ'er was from Grand Rapids, MI and asked if I had known Tiny, this Bangor
resident. Who said we contesters don't share our experiences during contests?
This took less than a minute, but was so gratifying it made the whole thing
worthwhile! Tiny could teach the difference between a triode and a pentode in
a way that you'd never forget it, for example.
