Comments:
Postponing contests for 1h definitely helped and was not too late for SSB part
as well. Much more QSOs for leaders in CW than last year. I had problems with
my second antennas for 80 and 40. Was left with only 4Square on 80m after yagi
broke and 4Square was not really ideal TX antenna. I could copy well but I was
not so much heard I guess in all directions. Also 3+3 stack on 40m was maybe
too high. Had option to switch for low dipole and that was much better to YL
and LY for example while yagi was pointing west.
Due to missing 2nd antennas could not do SO2R on the same band very well and
that is very useful especially on 80m in this contest. Thus missed a lot of
mults especially in CW part.
SSB was better as propagation seemed to favor ES. I was very positively
suprised when after 1h into SSB part ES2MC and ES1QD were leading by QSO
numbers on 80m. They had just been CQing and I had made already 25 2nd radio
QSOs - 1 on 40 and 24 on 80m. I don't know why I got so much less callers, I
guess the 4Square is the reason. Anyhow, 40m opened up quite nicely in the
second hour and I could build a small lead.
