Thanks for all the contacts. This contest is a lot of fun from CE1 and seems to
go by quickly since there is only about 10 hours of night here. This year I put
up a simple broadside/endfire RX array which seemed to really cut down the
summer QRN. The activity seemd a bit lower than last year but I made more QSO's
so maybe the new K3 radio just made the band sound less crowded. I never really
had any QRM from nearby stations. Last year I couldn't keep the loud Caribbean
stations out of the K2's passband. For those of you just wondering if you are
in the log for a new country, I have an online log check at:
http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/k7ca/
Rig:
K3 with diversity RX, AL-572 amp at 800 watts, 500' beverage north, 4 EL
broadside/endfire RX ant north, 42' top loaded vertical with 30 1/4 wave
radials, ocean 100' away.
Sorry to all the JA's I missed (especially at 35 points each) because the sun
came up before I realized it was time to move to your window. See you all in
the CQ 160 contest. 73, Al CE1/K7CA
