Comments:
Would have preferred never to have heard the VY1 station, than to have heard and
not been able to work them. I have to imagine it was quite a challenge for them.
They were asking for someone to repeat their check over and over, not able to
hear the other end of the QSO, but it took almost 5 minutes to complete. Still
managed one more section than my best (last year).
Was too pooped after hauling branches from several trees we had trimmed to stay
awake all of Saturday night as I had planned, so the effort was not all that
great.
80 sounded great and did add ND to my WAS total on that band. Was beginning to
wonder where some of the more common sections were, as the "rare" sections
seemed well populated this round. All the 7land states were well represented as
was ND, NNY, VE4. Thought I was going to miss NLI, but found a couple later in
the contest. Heck, didn't even hear any TN stations until later and I knew we
were going to be well represented.
Lotsa QRPers and some pretty impressive QSO totals were recorded.
