Comments:
10m was open most of the daytime hours with S9 pipelines to W6 and W5 at times
thanks to what had to be some strong Sporadic Es. (N0KE tells me that 6m was
open Sat. afternoon to W6 with Es.) 15m was FB as well and the usual good
condx prevailed on 20/40 mtrs. 80 and 160m were more difficult due to QRN and
some of the weaker contacts were tough until the last couple of hours. Used my
40m yagi to listen with on 160m which helped reduce the QRN. Caught XE2MX on
several bands and wkd VE2,3,6, and 7; the other provinces must have been on
vacation or condx weren't there. Thanks to KL7RA for the call on 40m - my only
AK QSO! No KH6s heard here...
Worked GMCC team members of Ski Bum #1: N2IC, KO7X, K0FX, and K0RI ,and Ski
Bums #2: K0UK, N0HF, W0ZA on various bands. Bill K0UK was operating from his
mobile in Roseville, CA with a S9 signal on 20m (later heard him on 40m calling
someone but didn't get lined up for a QSO). Also worked GMCCer Chuck K0RF on 5
bands who always seemed to have a pile up calling him.
73 Ken, W0ETT
