Comments:
The weather usually governs my plans and this year was no exception. The
predicted thunderstorms never materialized and I lost at least two hours of
prime operating time watching absolutely spectacular sunsets and a sunrise
Sunday morning. My multipliers were way up not only due to the consistent
e-skip and double hop on six but steady tropo and e-skip on two meters to the
west northwest. 10:30 am on Sunday morning brought six new grids in Colorado,
New Mexico and Arizona on two meters. Arizona is about as good as it gets from
the Tennessee/North Carolina lineâ?¦ (1400 miles!).
I had more than the usual failures starting with no 2304 receive. The six
meter rig became a little flakey during the last hours of the test but limped
along. K2DRH found me on a dead two meter band mid Sunday afternoon for a new
grid. Good ears Bob!
I hope to have the 2304 rig up and running soon. See you all in the CQ WW VHF
and the ARRL UHF test.
