Comments:
Almost all QSO's made with CC 2L40 at 95 ft aimed West +/-
I recently made 2 interesting discoveries:
My CC 2L40 has a near perfect SWR 1.1:1 at 50.1 MHz
It seems to hear / transmit 'all'? directions,
or at least the important ones.
I'm guessing the loading coils act to decouple the ends of the elements,
leaving a split dipole DE tuned near 17 MHz which operates as a 3/2 WL
Long Wire, producing 6 lobes with the 4 main lobes roughly 30 degrees each side
of the DE and secondary lobes broadside to the DE. I will check the pattern
sometime soon!
