Comments:
I had hoped to pass out the ZF multiplier to more people, but no such luck.
Last week I mentioned that I was using an Outbacker antenna attached to a
lounge chair, this week I moved the antenna to a balcony on the second floor.
It didn't seem to help much; I still got beat out in a lot of pileups (or else
people didn't hear me even when I was the only one calling.) It was still fun
to try in the NCCC Sprints and definitely added to my vacation. I am impressed
that I can make any contacts at all with this setup; I have made about 150 QSOs
in mostly casual operating during the past two weeks. Since we are staying in
a rental condo, I am being very low key about the operation. This weekend I
will try to make some 6 meter contacts using a dipole, which I think will work
better than the short vertical. Next Thursday I should be on from the home QTH
as N5DO.
