Comments:
Very good activity during the times I was able to operate.
Not many young guys on RTTY, but good to see the increased
activity with each contest. I tried to avoid 40 meters and
the CW ops (of which I am one.) I wish North America could
find a place to run each other on RTTY when EU is closed.
7070-7100 has a lot of VE SSB, but there is open space there.
How about we QSY there and work each other when EU is not open?
The only decent JA opening that I experienced was at my
sunset on 20 meters Saturday. Good signals, but not much
volume from Japan. Thanks to AD4EB for the only 5 bander,
and CV5D for the only other 10 meter QSO. This contest is
fun, and activity is good.
Tip to save time -- put your exchange data (AGE in this case)
in a separate macro, and send it ONLY when asked for a repeat.
When someone asks for a repeat, it usually means that they can
not hear you very well. If you send lots of other stuff besides
the critical piece of info needed, it will likely require yet
another repeat, and so on... Send only the info needed when
asked for a repeat, and soon you will be on to making more QSOs
with other stations, and increasing your score. Efficient contest
operating is about saving time, yet always being accurate.
Thanks to JARTS for sponsoring a fun event, and to all of the
operators for showing up and making QSOs.
